Working on a document… on holiday… for 2.5 hours… auto-recovery turned on… manually save the document before closing it for the night to be greeted by ‘Word cannot save owing to a permissions error’ and poof… all changes gone. Hasn’t happened to me in a long time.

Doing a little bit of work on holiday helps me return more relaxed. I think.
“… there is no damnation greater than spending our allotted days in the catatonia of comfort and certainty, our inner lives automated by habit and halogen lit by convenience.”
Volcà del Croscat - a dormant volcano (“the last eruption dated back to about 14,000 years Before Present”). It was “quarried … until the early 1990s, exposing the internal structure of the cone”
Lovely walk, but incredibly windy!
Another Star Trek prediction coming true thanks to research at Microsoft… Star Trek’s Isolinear Optical Chips: memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Isol… Microsoft’s Project Silica: www.microsoft.com/en-us/res…
When we were young, my brother, cousin, and I would rope in my mum and my aunt to help us serve cream teas at our local Scout hut. Missing my mum very much today, so this scone (from a packet given to me by a dear friend) was just the thing to unlock some happy memories of her this afternoon.
I did not know Tagesschau had a version of their news in simple German. This is fantastic! www.tagesschau.de/tagesscha…
I’d love to know how much research IKEA put into how little flavour you can add to coke from a dispenser before 100% of your customers tell you it’s disgusting 🧑🔬🤔
Very excited for this! Order placed 😊 - This is the new Clicks Communicator… and BlackBerry fans, we need to talk! | CrackBerry
The Paper Pro Move from reMarkable looks like a really interesting format, but I don’t think it’s for me. Great exploration of the device from My Deep Guide, highlighting both the good and the bad, which helped me come to my conclusion: www.youtube.com/watch
I have a custom timeline in Tapestry (https://usetapestry.com/) that is an oasis of photography, insight, stories, and kindness. It’s a wonderful place to immerse myself. I still take a deep breath and wade into the unfiltered stream daily, but the oasis reminds me how joyous social media can be.
I signed up with Kagi (https://kagi.com/) for paid personalised search. I’m having to retrain my muscle memory that the links are the top of the page ARE actually Kagi’s genuine top hits, not some paid-for links. I realise I’m so used to skipping down the page on Google to find the proper results.
Going to see Superman tonight. It’s the first film in a long time I’ve been genuinely excited about. I really enjoyed Zack Snyder’s take on the characters, but the films didn’t feel very hopeful tonally. Going in, this film feels more like it’s going to feel like the Superman of my youth.
Dean Cain (who I loved as Superman in Superman and Lois, and who was born Dean George Tanaka, which gives you a sense of his own immigrant roots) managing to set up a straw man argument about immigrants and seem kinda racist in a single quote. https://variety.com/2025/film/news/dean-cain-superman-woke-maga-backlash-immigrant-1236451732/
